Webinar: “Inventing the Future (Is Hard)” with Gibson Biddle, April 29 2021
This online talk focuses on the combination of consumer science, strategy, and culture required to make big bets to invent the future. We’ll focus on colonizing Mars as a metaphor for invention then see how Netflix navigated two decades of change through the “GLEe” strategy model. Then we’ll share strategy frameworks you can apply to your company and products to invent your own future. Last, we’ll also do three mini-cases to show why inventing the future is so hard.
About the speaker. Gibson Biddle joined Netflix as VP of Product in 2005. In 2010 he became the Chief Product Officer of his next startup, Chegg, a textbook rental and homework help company that went public in 2014. Today he’s an adviser, speaker, and guest lecturer at both Stanford and INSEAD.
