Growing organisational agility, navigating complexity – with Sociocracy 25-26 March 2015
Effective cross team synchronisation, collaborative innovation, whole system alignment
Agile and Lean have delivered fantastic results for optimizing flow of value to customers, but sooner or later agile teams bump into limitations in the surrounding organisation.
Sociocracy has delivered fantastic results for optimising organisational governance, enabling dynamic steering and generating cross organisational collaboration, yet until recently has been applied predominantly within traditional organisational systems.
Now these two worlds meet in a hybridised synthesis that addresses the generic complexities arising when collaboration needs to scale across multiple teams and domains.
You’ll learn how to integrate the value of Sociocracy’s core principles and practices into complex agile team environments to harvest collective intelligence across the entire system. Discover methods to navigate complexity and maximise value delivery for all – participants, customers and the company.
About Sociocracy:
In U.S. also known as dynamic governance. Sociocracy offers an innovative approach to positively grow and continuously improve organisations.
Alongside a reliable and effective framework that effectively taps into the collective intelligence within teams, it facilitates co-creativity, fosters transparency and guarantees the equivalence of all participants in decision making.
Short governance iterations with a tight feedback loop (Lead – Do – Measure) make self-organization and dynamic steering achievable both for teams and for the whole organisation. Sociocracy acts as “social technology” for unlocking ownership, engagement and a sense of purpose while promoting respect, diversity and inclusion.
Course format:
The course is two days with an optional third day, the 27th of March. You’re strongly recommended to attend day 3 to experiment with application and integrate learning. The third day will follow an open space format and focus towards your specific needs. It is offered for 1000 SEK to cover the cost for venue and food.
Please be sure to indicate in the comment field in the registration form if you intend to participate in the third day.
What past participants say:
“The most humane governance and decision making model I’ve seen so far! I rate the session 5 out 5” – Johannes Nordh.
“When I was 25-30 years old, companies tried empowered workgroups, self steering groups, collaborative decision making. In conclusion it failed, to my view, because enthusiasts believed that it could all work without governance. With Sociocracy governance, it can work.” Myra Beckman
”Repeatedly i am amazed about the integrative layout of the workshops. Time after time I see transparency, equivalence and effectiveness well balanced, and true Sociocracy subtly exemplified at premium level: workshop agendas are tailored specific to need and artfully and firmly facilitated by James and Michael. I learned so much about great leadership, communication and empowerment from them.”– Yaku Annama Fyrörn – GoForLife
“Love James’ facilitation. Gently and with a holistic insightful human perspective, he brought these rather dry structures and procedures to vibrant life, in the now. 5 of 5, definitely!” – Sara Bern
“ A very interesting topic presented in a way with presence of mind, deep knowledge, genuine passion and an amazing warmth. James also showed fantastic facilitation skills and energy. Effective decision making with active participation from all participants now seems like a reachable aim. Even in a larger circle. “ – Nina Garpedal
